Deputies are trying to determine who stole 24 propane tanks from Dollar General on Wednesday morning.

Deputies responded to a call from the Stonewall Jackson Boulevard store manager at 11:51 a.m.

The manager told deputies that someone cut the cage, which contained the tanks, and then removed 24 tanks from it.

The theft is believed to have happened about 12:10 a.m.

The value of the stolen tanks is $1,200.

In other reports:

  • At 6:31 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a call from a woman on Fame Lane who reported that someone stole several items from her vehicle.

The stolen items include: a 15.5-inch Asus laptop computer, $50 in cash, a $200 Walmart gift card, a bag of clothes and one hard contact for one eye.

The value of the stolen items is $1,350.

  • A construction contractor is missing $4,000 worth of tools.

Deputies responded to a call from the contractor at Sonic, located on North Road, at 9:19 a.m. on Wednesday. The theft appears to have happened overnight.
