An Orangeburg woman called deputies at 12:46 a.m. Tuesday to report that the girlfriend of her child’s father is harassing her through Facebook, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

She said the girlfriend was causing her emotional distress due to the unwanted contact and by threatening to cause her bodily harm. In one instance, the girlfriend claimed to be on the way to the woman’s home, she said.

The woman also told deputies that she had been sending replies to the girlfriend’s messages.

A deputy encouraged the woman to seek a restraining order from the magistrate’s office if the problem persists.

The deputy also advised her to stop replying to the woman on social media and to save the messages to help law enforcement bring the incident before a magistrate for review.
