An Orangeburg County woman reported Tuesday that her ex-boyfriend physically assaulted her on May 27, resulting in a hip fracture, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

The woman said her ex threatened to harm her and her family if she told authorities about the altercation.

The woman said a verbal altercation turned physical on May 27. She alleges her ex-boyfriend, “grabbed her by the neck and between her legs, picked her up and body-slammed her to the ground.”

Three weeks after the incident, she called 911 to request EMS because the pain was unbearable.

EMS transported her to the Regional Medical Center where she learned she had a fracture to her right hip, requiring surgery.

She told deputies that she didn’t tell law enforcement or medical personnel about the alleged incident because her ex-boyfriend was with her while she was being treated at the hospital.

She said that she and her ex-boyfriend lived together for about a year and no longer live together now.

In an unrelated report, an employee of Jimmy Jones Polaris on St. Matthews Road, Orangeburg, called authorities to say that someone stole an off-road utility vehicle from the business.

The stolen Polaris RZR XP 2-seater is valued at $24,000.
