Orangeburg teen shot to death near fast-food restaurant; another teen injured

Someone shot an Orangeburg teenager to death near a John C. Calhoun Drive fast-food restaurant area on Sunday night.

Raquan Malik Middleton, 17, was the victim of the fatal shooting.

Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Capt. Victor Cordon said the incident took place at 9:15 p.m. near Cook Out.

Fleeing Orangeburg man shows 'wanton disregard for human life'

Cordon said a 15-year-old received injuries during the shooting and underwent surgery.

He said the investigation is ongoing but an 18-year-old is in custody.

The teen has not been charged in the deadly shooting, but is facing a charge from a separate incident.

Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg is handling funeral arrangements for Raquan Malik Middleton.
