Hubert Lee Sanders, 56, of 497 Seawright Street, Orangeburg, pleaded guilty last month to shoplifting enhancement for third or subsequent offense valued at $2,000 or less.

Circuit Judge Maite Murphy sentenced him to 60 days at the Orangeburg County Detention Center and gave him credit for time served.

A grand jury indicted Sanders on a shoplifting enhancement charge in an April 18, 2019 incident where he allegedly stole four 12-ounce cans of Natural Ice beer and one 12-ouce can of Natty Daddy beer from Dollar Deals.

In other pleas:

• Christopher Falu Diaz, 32, of 1250 Cedar Creek Road, Swansea, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with lawful direction of police.

Murphy sentenced him to 30 days in jail or a $100 fine.

A grand jury indicted him on the count of first-offense failure to stop for blue light.

• Jesse Roberts Argoe, 34, of 225 Lin Drive, Orangeburg, pleaded guilty to first-offense driving under suspension related to driving under the influence.

Murphy sentenced him to 30 days in jail. After he serves 10 days, the remainder of the sentence will be suspended to nine months of probation.

She gave Argoe credit for having already served three days in jail.

She stipulated that he may serve on house arrest with a GPS monitor.

She ordered him to complete substance abuse counseling and undergo random drug/alcohol testing.

As a result of his guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed the charge of second-offense driving under the influence.

• Shelby Lynn Potynsky, 33, of 155 Hillock Court, Orangeburg, pleaded guilty to first-offense third-degree burglary.

Murphy sentenced her to five years in prison, suspended to three years of probation.

She ordered Potynsky to obtain her GED, complete substance abuse counseling and undergo random drug/alcohol testing.

A restitution hearing will be held in abeyance for 90 days.
