A 27-year-old Orangeburg man was shot early Thursday morning, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
He somehow ended up on the front porch of a Belleville Road residence.
The man told law enforcement he did not know how he got to the porch or where he came from.
The only thing the man knew is that he needed help, the report said.
The man arrived at the Belleville Road residence around 5 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the right side of his upper thigh.
The homeowner said she heard a knock on the door and told the victim to remain outside until officers arrived, the report said.
The woman said she did not hear or see anything prior to the knock on the door.
Orangeburg County Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the man to the Regional Medical Center.

The building is located on Franklin Street in Orangeburg. It is currently being renovated.
Items were in disarray but there did not appear to be any items missing, according to church officials.

• A Bamberg woman reported her white 2016 Toyota Corolla was stolen Thursday afternoon from the Regional Medical Center's parking lot.
The woman said she went into the hospital a little before 3 p.m. for a medical appointment and noticed her car missing when she finished her appointment.
The vehicle is valued at about $19,000.
• An Orangeburg woman reported her black 2008 Chevy Tahoe was stolen from her Heiligwood Road residence sometime Wednesday night.
The woman said she locked the door when she left the vehicle.
The vehicle is valued at about $10,000.
