Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office

An Orangeburg man says he was attacked early Saturday morning. After he tried to chase down his attackers, they shot at him, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

The incident began as two men were walking on State Court. A black Nissan Altima with four males inside approached them.

The victims said that the driver and front passenger exited the Altima.

One victim said that the driver punched him in the face several times, according to the report.

The second victim ran off. The front seat passenger chased him before returning to the Altima, the report states.

The two victims said the driver and passenger got back into the Altima and drove toward Magnolia Street.

The first victim then got into his vehicle and chased the Altima until they ended up on Seawright Street, the report said.

According to the first victim, one of the occupants in the Altima fired a gun up to six times.

The first victim said he then left the area and called 911 a little after 1 a.m.

Neither he nor his vehicle received any damage from gunfire.

Deputies patrolled the Seawright Street area, but weren’t able to locate any shell casings.

The first victim had a cut and knot on the left side of his head, but he refused medical care, the incident report states.
