Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office

While a Corona Drive man was watching television inside of his Orangeburg home on Monday afternoon, he heard someone open fire outside.

The shooting erupted between 5:15 and 5:33 p.m.

The man wasn’t injured.

After hearing the gunfire, he went to the front door, but didn’t see anyone there.

A bullet damaged a wall in his kitchen and another bullet struck his bedroom wall.

Deputies recovered seven shell casings from the roadway in front of the residence.   

  • On July 3, a Clarendon Street woman called deputies to her home where someone stole her 2007 white GMC Yukon valued at $15,000.

The vehicle has 24-inch chrome rims with the center caps missing.

  • Deputies responded to a Baugh Street residence on July 4 after a woman discovered her 1997 red Ford Expedition stolen around 9:45 a.m.

She said the driver’s side window will not close, the driver’s side quarter panel has scratches on it, the hood is faded and the bug deflector is damaged.

The vehicle is valued at $1,600.

  • On July 4, a Five Chop Road woman called deputies a couple of hours after discovering that her vehicle was stolen at 7:30 a.m.

The vehicle is a 2010 gray Suzuki SX4 valued at $7,000.
