An Orangeburg man has been accused of breaking into a South Carolina State University student’s home while she was away for the summer.
Charles J. Glover, 19, of 1259 Sawyer St., was arrested and charged Friday with one count of second-degree burglary.
Glover allegedly confessed to the robbery in a recorded conversation with the victims as well as to law enforcement, according to an Orangeburg Department of Public Safety incident report.
The victim said when school got out for the summer, she and her roommates left their Colleton Street residence. They ensured the doors were locked.
The woman said when she returned on Aug. 18, she found her 40-inch black Samsung television was missing. The woman said her roommates were also missing their televisions.
The woman informed law enforcement that the back door was cracked and the property’s fence was open. A window was also unlocked, serving as a possible entry point, the report states.
The items stolen totaled $920.
Glover’s bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
