An Orangeburg man is accused of engaging in sexual encounters with a minor, Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced Friday.
Elijah Williams, 39, was charged with one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
A bond hearing is scheduled for Saturday morning at the Orangeburg County Law Enforcement Complex.
A 15-year-old female’s parents told sheriff’s office investigators they had been told by family friends the juvenile was having sex with an adult, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
The parents told investigators that in April they had found “graphic nudity” in photos depicting the teen and subject on the teen’s phone.
Williams faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
