Two men sought in the shooting death of a Bowman man are now in custody.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service taskforce took Daniel Goodwin Jr., 26, of 123 Ann Street, Harleyville, and Joshua Nyrel Davis, 25, of 450 Elm Street, Bowman, into custody on Tuesday, sheriff’s office Maj. Rene Williams said.
Both men are facing the following charges: murder, armed robbery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and criminal conspiracy.
They’re accused of participating in the shooting death of 55-year-old Ervin E. Jones of Dibble Street, Bowman on Sept. 17. Davis and Goodwin are also accused of causing injury to another person in the case.
Williams said officers took Davis into custody at Banashee Mobile Home Park on Banashee Circle in Orangeburg.
Goodwin was found at an apartment complex off of Russell Street in Orangeburg.
Brandon Brown, 34, of Canal Street, Bowman has also been charged with murder in Jones’ death. Brown is also facing the charges armed robbery and criminal conspiracy.
Davis appeared briefly before Orangeburg County Magistrate Jacob Gillens Sr. on Tuesday afternoon.
Gillens ordered Davis back to the Orangeburg County Detention Center after Davis appeared to not be taking the proceedings seriously.
Both Davis and Goodwin are expected to appear for their arraignments on Wednesday.
