An 18-year-old Orangeburg man says he was shot twice in his thigh by a woman he knows only as Robin, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

Deputies responded to the Southern Lodge on St. Matthews Road at 9:56 p.m. Thursday after a caller reported seeing a man on the ground with others assisting him.

The male told deputies that he and the female were in room 130 when she allegedly shot him twice.

He said that she entered a white vehicle, which circled the parking lot two or three times, and then headed down U.S. Highway 601 toward Calhoun County.

He wasn’t able to provide additional information about her or how the shooting occurred, according to the incident report.

As deputies searched the hotel room, they noticed a black bandana, phone charger, a red/black hat and a piece of jewelry on the floor.

In addition, deputies discovered two shell casings near the television. One casing was on the stand and the other on the floor.

Deputies interviewed bystanders who each told them they heard two gunshots and saw a white vehicle circle the parking lot approximately three times.

A female guest, staying in a room a few doors down from 130, told deputies she was asleep when she heard someone say, “I need help. Call 911.”

She also saw the vehicle driving around in the parking lot.

In a separate incident, someone stole a 2000 green Nissan Altima from a driveway on Woodberry Drive on Thursday.

The owner said that he’d parked the vehicle there with the keys inside of it, according to an incident report.

A friend told him that someone saw the vehicle on Nance Street in Orangeburg.

Deputies checked the areas of Nance Street and Goff Avenue, but didn’t see the vehicle.

The vehicle is valued at $6,000.
