An Orangeburg man says he was shot as he was walking down Ellis Avenue, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
The man arrived at the Regional Medical Center at about 10 p.m. Monday.
He’d suffered a gunshot wound to his left buttocks/outer side of his thigh area.
He told deputies that he was walking down Ellis Avenue, between Redmon Street and an Orangeburg County shop, when the incident occurred.
He heard a gunshot and then felt tingling in his leg.
He didn’t realize at first that he’d been shot.
The man noticed a dark-colored Chevrolet Suburban nearby, the report said.

No one was injured.
• A Holly Hill man reported at 6:47 p.m. Monday that someone stole his pickup truck from his White Sands Road yard, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
A neighbor reported seeing three men take the 1990 red Nissan pickup truck, which contained the victim’s silver knife and sunglasses.
Deputies were able to recover the vehicle from a private field near the man’s house. His sunglasses and knife weren’t in it.
The vehicle is valued at $2,000 and the knife and sunglasses are valued at $40.
