A 21-year-old man was killed in a three-vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at 4:50 p.m. on S.C. Highway 3 near S.C. Highway 389.
A 1980 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling north on Highway 3 tried to pass a 2016 Toyota.
The 1980 pickup truck ran head-on into a 2011 activity bus that was traveling south. The Toyota then ran into a ditch.
The driver of the 1980 pickup truck, a Barnwell resident, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was killed in the crash. His name has not yet been released.
The driver of the activity bus was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital. He was the only occupant of the bus.
The driver and passenger in the Toyota were wearing seatbelts. They did not have to go to a hospital.
