Sheriff’s Office

A 22-year-old Orangeburg man is facing a charge of unlawful possession of a pistol after deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the Goff Avenue area on Wednesday night.

A caller reported hearing the shots around 11:51 p.m.

When deputies arrived in the area, they saw a man walking away.

He let the deputies know he had a gun in his right pants leg and he was patted down.

A dispatcher confirmed that the firearm was not reported stolen, however, the man did not have a concealed weapons permit.

A deputy transported the man to the Orangeburg County Detention Center without incident.
