A Vance man reported Sunday morning that someone shot his dog in the head.

The man said that he heard five to seven gunshots during the night while he was inside of his Azeeban Road home.

He went outside and discovered that his dog had a gunshot wound to the head. Five spent .223-caliber shell casings were near the dog.

The man doesn’t know who would’ve shot his Labrador retriever mixed breed.

In other reports:

• A Larkspur Road man reported Friday morning that someone stole a 2018 black wire mesh Carry-On trailer from his Cordova home.

The trailer is valued at $1,500.

• An Orangeburg man reported on Friday that someone stole his 2001 gray Dodge Ram pickup truck from a St. Matthews Road property.

• When a Rosemont Drive man went to hang clothes on the line to dry at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, he noticed that the door to his shed was open and tools were missing.

The man reported that someone stole the following tools: a chainsaw, a Craftsman trimmer/blower, an Echo trimmer with an attachment, a 48-inch Husqvarna lawnmower with a Kawasaki engine, a 5-gallon air compressor, a pressure washer and three hedge trimmers.

The tools are valued at $6,854.

• A deputy issued tickets to an Orangeburg mother for reckless driving and child restraint violation, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

A deputy reported that the woman was partially blocking one lane of travel on Dorchester Street at 10:51 p.m. Friday.

She told him “several times” that she’d consumed a “few beers,” according to the report.

The deputy said the woman’s 7-year-old child was unrestrained in the back left passenger compartment.

The woman told the deputy that she was turning her vehicle around in the middle of Dorchester Street because she was heading to a residence on the street to pick up her daughter, the report said.

The woman’s grandmother took possession of the vehicle and child. A deputy transported the woman to the Orangeburg County Detention Center.

A Crossing Circle woman reported at 1:30 a.m. Sunday that someone stole the following items from her apartment: two televisions, a Sony PlayStation 3, a Sony PlayStation 4 and at least 10 PlayStation games.

The value of the stolen items is $1,800.
