A child is recovering from minor injuries he sustained after a motorist struck him and left the scene on Saturday afternoon near Holly Hill.

Authorities are looking for the vehicle and driver involved in the collision.

The collision occurred at 4:38 p.m. on S.C. Highway 453 near Indian Town Lane, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper 1st Class Tyler Tidwell.

“A vehicle struck a bicyclist in the rear and left the scene. The bicyclist was a minor and suffered non-life threatening injuries,” Tidwell said.

Tidwell said the Highway Patrol is seeking a burgundy sedan in connection with this incident.
