Sheriff’s Office

An Orangeburg man reported his car was missing less than an hour into the New Year, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

The man was at a Shadow Lawn Drive home for about four hours when he walked outside to smoke a cigarette. He noticed the 2007 white Honda Accord was gone.

He’d left the car unlocked with the keys inside, according to the report.

About 20 minutes before the man reported his vehicle missing, the S.C. Highway Patrol found it abandoned near Harper Street, where it apparently crashed.

It is valued at $2,000.
