Orangeburg Department of Public Safety

Someone broke into a Bowler Street residence and stole more than $16,000 in cash, jewelry and electronics. The burglary was discovered Nov. 1.

The burglar stole a shoebox containing $6,000 in cash from a closet and antique coins from a tin can.

In addition, a 32-inch flat screen television and jewelry were stolen.

Clothes were tossed about the floor of the bedroom and living room.

The value of all of the stolen items is $16,800.

A Kennerly Road man is facing a third-degree assault and battery charge after he allegedly pushed his mother in the face because she wouldn’t provide him with money.

Deputies responded to the home at 9:44 p.m. Saturday.
