Bowman man’s body found; report says death apparent homicide

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office investigators are probing the death of a man discovered at a Bowman home on Tuesday,

A Bowman police officer found the body of the 55-year-old man at 404 Dibble Street at about 5 p.m., according to a sheriff’s office incident report. The man was on his back.

A Bowman man told law enforcement officials that he spoke with the victim around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was looking for a tool to use on his water pump. The man told the victim that the tool was at a relative’s house on the back porch.

The man said he saw a green Honda Accord in the victim’s yard with two men sitting inside of it.

He wasn’t certain when the men in the Accord left.

The report states that the death was an apparent homicide. The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office did not respond to requests for information by press time.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is handling the case.
