A classic country music and hot air balloon festival is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bowman's Yonder Field event venue.
The event will feature recording artists Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye as part of the trio's Roots & Boots '90s Electric Throwdown North American tour.
The concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. and run through 10:30 p.m.
The daylong event will also include tethered balloon rides, food, trucks, games and live music from local bands.
The tethered hot air balloon rides, called the “Library Lift-Off”, are being offered as a benefit for the Orangeburg County Library. The library will be on hand to give out free books to kids.
“This is our second opportunity to partner with Yonder Field and we are so excited about this event," Anna Zacherl, director of the Orangeburg County Library said. "We interact with the community in many different ways and outside the walls of our branches are some of our favorite ways to meet the community members and share all the great things their libraries are doing."
The monies raised will help the library operate its six branches and bookmobile as well as expanding its North branch as well as the main branch in Orangeburg.
"We want to get our resources and services to everyone in the county and the money raised in this event will help with that," Zacherl said.
"As the Orangeburg County Library is one of our beloved charitable partners, we welcome the opportunity to help raise funds and promote the great resources they bring to our county," said Stacie Darr, general manager of Yonder Field. "All proceeds from the tethered balloon rides will go directly to the library. Also, It has been a great experience working with Swamp Buck Entertainment in the planning of this event and we look forward to working together again!"
The event, produced by Swamp Buck Entertainment, an Orangeburg-based event-production company, will feature three nationally acclaimed country music recording artists.
