CORDOVA – The town of Cordova’s new sign was recently erected.
Installation was June 10 when the BrandRite Sign Company broke ground. The sign was completed the next day.
Mayor James Martin and council members said they were amazed with the company’s speed, efficiency and professionalism. The sign is located beside the town hall for all to see, and plans for the lighting are in the works.

Council also decided to forgo insurance coverage on the sign at the moment, but they are keeping in mind the possibility of adding it in the future.
Discussions have not yet to any plans for an Independence Day celebration. Council wants to do something small, but after some issues last year, they are unsure of any plans.
In other business, council members are interested in attending some meeting with the Municipal Association of South Carolina and Orangeburg County for the town’s benefit.
Also, an unknown person mowed part of the grass near the road, and the mayor said he was very thankful for whomever it was that did a good deed for the town.
