The Performing Arts Youth Theater, a children’s theater wing of the Calhoun Players, will present the Disney musical “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” at the Cameron Auditorium on Highway 33 in Cameron at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10-11, with a matinee performance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12.

Join in the fun with Ariel along with her friends Flounder, Sebastian and Scuttle, as they encounter Ursula, the sea witch, who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. But in the end after some thunder and mayhem, Prince Eric captures Ariel’s heart as they ride the waves into the sunset. This Disney classic is a favorite with both children and adults.

The large cast consists of students who enrolled in the Performing Arts Youth Theater’s summer camp in Cameron, which began July 9. The musical is under the direction of Peggy Hirth, with music by Wayne Smalldridge, choreography by Allegra Portee and set design by Pat Gilmore.

Tickets are $10. For reserved seating, call 803-823-2948. Tickets are also available for purchase at the door.
