BAMBERG -- Bamberg Family Practice recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new building.
The new facility will serve a large number of patients who come from a wide area ranging from Orangeburg, Bamberg and Barnwell counties.
At the event, there were people lined up out the door to take a tour of the new office.
“I’m happy to be finally moving in, and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to do this,” Dr. Danette McAlhaney said. “I want to thank my husband for all the work he’s done for overseeing the project, and my family for supporting me. We are very happy to be able to give back to Bamberg.
“This new facility will make parking a lot easier at our office. We will be able to make patients more comfortable as they come through.”

Bamberg Mayor Nancy Foster said, “I’m excited to be here today. Dr. McAlhaney and her husband Danny have certainly made a huge investment in Bamberg. It really gives me hope that others will step up and invest. We’ve had some issues with no grocery store and the buildings burning downtown.
“This just gives us that little boost we need to think maybe other things will happen, so I am very excited about it. I’m just so happy for Dr. McAlhaney and her staff.”
Bamberg Family Practice will open in the new facility on Monday June 10.
