Eight inmates at the Orangeburg County Detention Center are being disciplined for a “ruckus” they allegedly caused on March 1, Orangeburg County Administrator Harold Young said.

Young said the eight inmates reportedly damaged their cells and became aggressive with jailers.

The inmates are not facing additional criminal charges due to their alleged behavior inside the detention center.

The eight inmates are being restricted from some privileges such as not receiving visitors until March 18.
