Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Chief Mike Adams has reported that the Glover Street bridge over the Edisto River reopened about 8 a.m. Wednesday, but the U.S. 301 bridge remains closed.

"DOT has opened up Glover Street crossing the river, so that river crossing is now open. (The) 301 (bridge) is still shut down. Glover Street to Cannon Bridge Road, that river crossing is open," Adams said.

"People can get across the river on the south side now, but 301 is still closed for the time being. Everybody should proceed with caution," he said.
