A Bamberg man has started serving a 15-year prison sentence for burglaries he committed in Orangeburg County.
Kevin Andrew Pierson, 21, of 352 Orange Grove Road, pleaded guilty on Feb. 5 to first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, petit larceny and grand larceny.
Circuit Judge James Barber sentenced Pierson to 15 years in prison.
Pierson was given credit for having already served 69 days at the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
On March 28, 2015, Pierson committed third-degree burglary, grand larceny and petit larceny by unlawfully entering a building belonging to another man and taking a John Deere X320 riding lawnmower, according to the indictments against him.
On Dec. 17, 2015, Pierson committed first-degree burglary by entering the home of an Orangeburg County man.
Pierson has two charges of first-degree burglary pending in Bamberg County.
