Carlie Alaina Franklin and Michael Gary Nelson were united in marriage at 6:00 p.m. on April 7, 2018, at the Santee Cooper Country Club in Santee, S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lynn Johnston Franklin of Eutawville, S.C. and the late Mr. Julian A. (Tony) Franklin. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lenora M. (Chic) Johnston and the late Mr. Hyotte M. Johnston of Branchville, S.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Julian N. (Dorothy) Franklin of Eutawville.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gene (Karen) Nelson of Sumter, S.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Carole Prevett and the late Mr. Boyd Prevett of Maryville, TN and the late Mr. and Mrs. Darrell (Alice) Nelson of Rome, GA.
Rev. Robert Moorehead officiated the ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Lynn Johnston Franklin.
Matron of honor was Julianne Franklin Reeves and maid of honor was Catherine Elizabeth Franklin.
Bridesmaids were Chelsea Eargle Connelly; Rachel Elaine Connelly; Meredith Sheider Jenkins; Mary Elizabeth Lockey; Jennifer Nelson Sierk; Hannah Cara Way; Victoria Ashley Way and Mary Auburn Shuler Whitney.
Best man was Gary Gene Nelson, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were William Harper Fudger; David Dewey Hutson; Davis Myers Hutson; Zachary Wayne Minton; Brian George Reeves; Matthew Zell Sierk; Zachary Boone Snipes and Carter Dillon Way.
Flower girl was Ellis Sammie Reeves and ring bearer was Brian Finn Reeves.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Santee Cooper County Club.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica the couple will reside in Santee.
Mrs. Nelson is a graduate of Holly Hill Academy and Charleston Southern University. She is currently employed as a teacher at Williams Memorial Elementary School.
Mr. Nelson is a graduate of Sumter High School and Presbyterian College. He is currently employed as a teacher and coach at Orangeburg Preparatory School.
