When Jesus left heaven for His earthly living, and returned to Heaven after his crucifixion, He commanded his followers to go everywhere and make disciples. That was His way to let the world know about the good news of salvation by believing in what God had done when He sent His Son, Jesus, into the world that the world could be saved.

"Saved from what?" some ask. From a life of sin, which is disobedience to God. It seems humans have been fooled by satan to believe God loves us so much He would not punish anyone.

Think about your life as a follower of Christ, as an obedient Christian. You are making disciples, aren’t you? If not, why not? Jesus gave His followers a commandment, not a suggestion. Doing church work that isn't super active is not making disciples. We are to reproduce. I believe that Christians not making disciples is a world-wide problem today. So many are living for self and not concerned about others, entering eternity without Christ’s salvation.

Matthew records that Jesus said: “Go and make disciples of all nations … teaching them (your disciples) to observe all that I have commanded you (a part of this is the making of disciples). " Matthew 28:19-20

Paul gives his version in II Timothy 2:2: “And the things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also."

One day, according to the scripture, we shall give account of our lives. One question must be answered: “Did you lay a foundation of Christ in people’s lives?" This is the pure essence of the Christian life; it’s the gold, silver and precious stone that will stand the refiner's fire. All else is of no use; it's dross.

Read Paul’s words and ponder them in your heart:

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 (TLB) - 10) "God, in his kindness, has taught me how to be an expert builder. I have laid the foundation and Apollos has built on it. But he who builds on the foundation must be very careful. 11) And no one can ever lay any other real foundation than that one we already have - Jesus Christ. 12) But there are various kinds of materials that can be used to build on that foundation. Some use gold and silver and jewels, and some build with sticks and hay or even straw! 13) There is going to come a time of testing at Christ’s Judgment Day to see what kind of material each builder has used. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire so that all can see whether or not it keeps its value, and what was really accomplished. 14) Then every workman who has built on the foundation with the right materials, and whose work still stands, will get his pay. 15) But if the house he has built burns up, he will have a great loss. He himself will be saved, but like a man escaping through a wall of flames."

The business of Christians is to make another disciple. It is my prayer that every Child of God will get busy and plant some seed or perhaps even harvest a disciple. Do you have a loved one, neighbor, friend, or just an acquaintance that is destined to a Godless eternity? Pray and act, and may God bless your effort.
