The Performing Arts Youth Theater, a children’s theater wing of the Calhoun Players, will present the Disney musical “Beauty and the Beast Jr.,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday Aug. 9-10, at the Cameron Auditorium on Highway 33 in Cameron. There will also be a matinee performance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11.
This “tale as old as time” was the first Disney musical to reach the Broadway stage. The familiar songs will have you humming and singing all the way home, with such classics as “Be Our Guest” and the title song “Beauty And The Beast.” This show reveals the truth about the human condition — how love and sacrifice go hand-in-hand. This wonderful Disney classic is a favorite with both children and adults.
