SANTEE -- One of the nation's most popular traditional gospel quartets will be headlining the 36th anniversary of a local music producer.

Harry Govan of Harry Govan Gospel Song Ministries has brought gospel music to local audiences for more than three decades.

Commemorating his work, HGG Song Ministries will present the 36th anniversary of Brother Harry Govan at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Lake Marion High School in Santee.

The program will showcase seven gospel entertainers, including headliner Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites.

For more than three decades, Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites have appealed to fans of traditional gospel quartets, alongside other groups such as The Canton Spirituals, The Williams Brothers and Lee Williams & the Spiritual QC’s. The 2014 Stellar Award winners have received several accolades, including nine American Gospel Quartet Convention awards.

Also performing at Govan's celebration will be the Swanee Quintet, Pastor Henry Dixon & the Truth Tabernacle Choir, Five Singing Sons, Minister Sarah Priester, Spiritual Uplifters, Spiritual Tones and the Silver Stars.

Lake Marion High School is located at 3656 Tee Vee Road in Santee.
