The Orangeburg Assembly held its annual Debutante Ball on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018 at the Orangeburg Country Club. Prior to the ball, a reception was held in the ballroom. Members and guests were greeted at the door by Mrs. John Francis Brailsford, III, first vice-president and Mr. Brailsford, then received by Mrs. Danny Allen Johnson, president and Mr. Johnson, the debutantes, their mothers and sponsors. Following the presentation, the debutantes and sons were honored with dinner and dancing.

Two daughters of Assembly members were presented: Miss Laura Adison Walter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Preston Walter, escorted by Mr. Trent Myers Bair; and Miss Donna Audrey Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Windelle Roberts Jr., escorted by Mr. Charles Evan Bair.

Also presented was Miss Caroline Evelyn Calder, granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Everette Arden Weathers, escorted by Mr. Ellie Weston Green.

The sons of Assembly members attending their first ball were Mr. James Snyder Williamson III, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Snyder Williamson Jr., escorted by Miss Mary Ashley Boykin; Mr. Charles Evan Bair, son of Dr. and Mrs. Curtis Ray Bair, escorted by Miss Laura Adison Walter; Mr. Trent Myers Bair, son of Dr. and Mrs. Curtis Ray Bair, escorted by Miss Donna Audrey Roberts; Mr. David Tanner Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Taylor Smith, escorted by Miss Julia Taylor Smith. Also attending was Mr. Benjamin David Rheney, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Rheney, escorted by Miss Rebecca Lynn Rheney.

Special guests of the Assembly were the returning daughters and sons of the 2016 Assembly Ball: Elizabeth Miller, Julia Taylor Smith, Kathryn Olivia Cherup, Margaret Rebecca Robertson and Cameron Evans Thompson

Board members planning the 2018 Assembly Ball were Mrs. Danny Allen Johnson, president; Mrs. John Francis Brailsford III, vice president; Mrs. Warren Ramsey Albergotti, second vice president; Mrs. William Allen Fairey, secretary; Mrs. Chester Manning Kearse, Jr. treasurer; Mrs. Bradley Neil Fogle, hospitality and Mrs. Edward Regis Gladd, floor.
