ORANGEBURG COUNTY, AIKEN COUNTY, ALLENDALE COUNTY, BAMBERG COUNTY, BARNWELL COUNTY & CALHOUN COUNTY Community Development Block Grant Notice of Public Hearing Concerning Application NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 4:00 p.m., Orangeburg County – in conjunction with Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell and Calhoun Counties – will hold a public hearing concerning a joint application to be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Commerce Grants Administration on or about June 21, 2021 for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). As the lead applicant, Orangeburg County is requesting $1,287,725 dollars through the CDBG-CV program to carry out the following activities: The grant will be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic by providing eligible public services aimed at facilitating fooddistributionandhealthcarejobtrainingtolow-and-moderateincomepersons. Due to the significant public health risks presented by COVID-19, Orangeburg County is opting to conduct this public hearing telephonically. All participants must dial 1-480-297-0773 by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 and then enter the access code 820 5139 followed by the pound key to attend the public hearing. This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun and Orangeburg Counties’ Citizen Participation Plans, developed in anticipation of participation in the state of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of these Counties in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds. The Citizen Participation Plans are available for review at each County’s administrative building during normal business hours. Persons with questions or comments concerning the public hearing or their County’s Citizen Participation Plan may contact Emory M.
