NOTICE OF THE TOWN OF NORWAY ELECTION
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA

COUNTY OF ORANGEBURG

Notice is hereby given that the Special Municipal Election for the Town of Norway will be
held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. The purpose of this election will be to fill an unexpired
Council seat as required by law.
Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than May 2,
2020.
Citizens desiring to be candidates for one of the above listed offices may file at the
Norway Town Hall, 8403 Savannah Highway, Norway, SC. Books will be open for filing
on March 25, 2020 at 12 noon and remain open until April 8, 2020 at 12 noon. Filing fee
for the office of Council is $5.00.
At 10:00 a.m. on Election Day the Orangeburg County Election Commission will begin
its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at the Orangeburg County
Voter Registration & Elections Office located at 1475 Amelia Street,
Orangeburg, South Carolina.
On Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., the Municipal Board of Canvassers will hold
a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this election. This
hearing will be held at the Norway Town Council Chambers located at 2750 Cope Road,
Norway, South Carolina.
The following precincts and polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.:
