Hughes Starks Amy Renee Hughes and Jonathan DeHay Starks were united in marriage at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Belfair Plantation in Bluffton, S.C. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mason Hughes, III of Orangeburg, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mason Hughes, Jr. of Orangeburg and Mr. and Mrs. Shellie (Sheck) Anderson Nettles of Cordova, S.C. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lane Starks of Irmo, S.C. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Starks, Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lanier Bowers, all of Walterboro, S.C. Mr. Louis Miller, uncle of the groom, officiated the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Matron of honor was Amanda Babcock of Columbia, S.C., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jacquelyn Gayle of Irmo, sister of the groom; Jacquelyn Bryant of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; Melissa Wimberly of Mount Pleasant; Lindsey Lewis of Duncan, S.C.; Kim Hardisty of Savannah, G.A.; Jessica Prescott of Laurens, S.C.; Holly Britt of Summerville, S.C.; Anna Marie Evans of Williams, S.C. and Megan Jones of Darlington, S.C. Honorary bridesmaid was Lauren Craft of Orangeburg. Father of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Brent Miller of Fort Mill, S.C., cousin of the groom; Jackson Sawyer of Columbia; Todd Gayle of Irmo, brother-inlaw of the groom; Kellum Mahan of San Diego, CA; Kellie Herndon of Irmo; Holden Hughes of Clemson, Mrs. Jonathan D. Starks S.C., brother of the bride; Max Babcock of Columbia, brother-in-law of the bride and Jimmy Miner of Atlanta, GA. Junior groomsmen were Heydan and Connor Gayle of Irmo, nephews of the groom. Flower girl was Macy Gayle of Irmo, niece of the groom. Ring bearer was Anderson Babcock of Columbia, nephew of the bride. Music for the ceremony was provided by Williams Duo of Charleston, S.C. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Belfair Clubhouse. Music/entertainment for the reception was provided by the Shimmer Band of Atlanta, GA. Following a wedding trip to Mykonos and Santorini, Greece, the couple will reside in Columbia. Mrs. Starks is a 2007 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science; a 2012 graduate of the South Carolina College of Pharmacy with a Doctorate in Pharmacy and a 2013 graduate of the St Joseph’s/Candler PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency program in Savannah, GA. She is currently employed as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg. Mr. Starks is a 2004 graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics. He is currently employed as an account manager with LRgistics.
