NOTICE OF THE TOWN OF COPE ELECTION
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA

COUNTY OF ORANGEBURG

Notice is hereby given that the Municipal Election for the Town of Cope will be held on
Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The purpose of this Election will be to elect the Mayor and
four (4) Council members to serve a four (4) year term as required by law.
Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than October
5, 2019.
Citizens desiring to be candidates for the above listed office must reside within the town
limits of Cope, SC.The filing period begins August 1, 2019, at 12:00 noon.All candidates
must file the Statement of Intention of Candidacy no later than 12:00 noon, August 15,
2019 with the Town Clerk at the Town of Cope, located at Town Hall, 5402 Cope Road,
Cope, South Carolina. No filing fee for the office of Mayor and Council.
At 10:00 a.m. on Election Day the County Board will begin its examination of the
absentee ballot return envelopes at Orangeburg County Voter Registration & Elections
Office, 1475 Amelia Street, Orangeburg, South Carolina.
On Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., the Municipal Board of Canvassers will
hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this election. This
hearing will be held at the Cope Town Hall Council Chambers located at 5402 Cope
Road, Cope, South Carolina.
The following precincts and polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.:
