PINEWOOD -- A waterfowl habitat and hunt management workshop is scheduled for Oct. 20-21.

The S.C. Waterfowl Association will host the Midlands Waterfowl Habitat and Hunt Management Workshop to begin Friday, Oct. 20, at 2:30 p.m. at the Wildlife Education Center, S.C. Waterfowl Association, 1234 Kennette Trail Road in Pinewood. The event will run through noon Saturday.

Information will be presented by waterfowl and wetlands experts from partnering agencies and organizations on best habitat and hunt-management practices for waterfowl areas in the Midlands of South Carolina and other applicable freshwater landscapes.

The cost for one day (Oct. 20) is $50; $100 (both days with meal, no lodging); $150 (both days with meal & lodging).

Lodging will be shared dormitory facilities but with gender separation.

Space in the dormitory is limited, so please register by October 14, 2017.

The workshop will also be held in partnership with Clemson Cooperative Extension, the James C. Kennedy Waterfowl & Wetlands Conservation Center, Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
