After 10 weeks, the high school football regular season comes to a close this Friday.

For several T&D Region teams, region titles and playoff positions remain at stake. Aside from those teams out of the playoffs, or whose positions will remain unchanged, the lone certainty is undefeated Andrew Jackson Academy. The Confederates have now extended the Palmetto State-best winning streak to 34 games in a row. Other teams face the following scenarios:

Bamberg-Ehrhardt - Clinches Region 5-2A title with victory over Allendale-Fairfax or a Barnwell loss to Silver Bluff. Still claim top seed out of region for playoffs with a loss.

Bethune-Bowman/Branchville - Friday’s winner claims fourth and final playoff spot out of Region 5-A.

Calhoun County - Clinches a share of third place in Region 5-2A with win over Batesburg-Leesville or tie for fourth with win and Silver Bluff loss to Barnwell. A 3-way tie with Batesburg-Leesville and Silver Bluff is possible.

Dorchester Academy - Clinches fourth place in SCISA Region 2-A with win over Palmetto Christian Academy.

Hunter-Kinard-Tyler - Can finish tied for second with win over Ridge Spring-Monetta. A third-place tie is possible with loss and Wagener-Salley loss to Estill.

Jefferson Davis Academy - Clinches SCISA 8-man Region II title with win over Newberry Academy.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson - A three-way tie with win over Lower Richland and Dreher loss to A.C. Flora. A fourth-place finish with loss to Lower Richland and Dreher loss.

Woodland - Co-Region 6-2A champions and second seed out of region for playoffs with win over Academic Magnet and Whale Branch loss to Burke.

Calhoun County - The Saints picked up their first region win of the season in defeating Allendale-Fairfax, 13-12.

On the opposite side of the Andrew Jackson Academy spectrum is North. The Eagles look to snap a South Carolina-worst 33-game losing streak this Friday against Blackville-Hilda. They will also look to score their first points of the season since a Sept. 8 game against C.A. Johnson. Opponents have outscored North 381-16 this season and scored 265 unanswered points in the last six games.

Lake Marion has given up 50 or more points in three straight games and has suffered six shutouts this season... Branchville can still match its most wins (5) since reviving football with a win over Bethune-Bowman... Calhoun County is 1-8 all-time against Batesburg-Leesville. The lone win, however, took place last season on the road.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt is the lone T&D Region team ranked in this week's S.C. Prep Football Media Poll. The Red Raiders are No. 3 in the Class 2A ranks, behind only Abbeville and Carvers Bay.
