Tuesday in Azalea play
SUMMERVILLE - Orangeburg Prep won two out of three games (all against SCHSL Class 5A programs) for a third-place finish in the Azalea Tournament on Tuesday.
In their first game of the day, the Lady Indians defeated Goose Creek, 13-4.
Leading hitters for OPS were Cierra Banks, 3-for-4 and two RBI, Bailey Craven one hit with two RBI, Anna Beth Lambrecht and Bailey Livingston one hit and one RBI each and Ryn Grubbs, JoJo Wolfe, and Lindsay Salley each had a hit.
In the second game, Nation Ford took a 9-4 win over OPS.
Leading hitters for the Lady Indians were Livingston with one hit and an RBI, along with Craven, Wolfe and Banks with one hit each.
In the last game of the day for OPS, the Lady Indians picked up a 5-4 win over James Island.
Leading hitters for the Lady Indians were Wolfe and Schurlknight with one hit and an RBI apiece, along with Livingston and Alyssa Bukszar with one hit each.
The Lady Indians will host Northwood on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

PELION - Pelion defeated Orangeburg Prep 7-3 on Tuesday in the Pelion Spring Break Tournament.
LP: Trace Furtick 4 Ks and 10 hits allowed.
Leading hitters for OPS were Nick Pascoe 1-for-2, one run and an RBI, Will Summers 1-for-3, A.J. Tolbert 2-for-3 and an RBI, Trace Furtick 1-for-3 and one run, and Brett Lovern an RBI.

GILBERT - Calhoun County lost to the RNE Cavaliers by 5 runs on Tuesday in the Sandlapper Tournament at Gilbert High School.
The Saints went down 8-0 through 3 innings, but by the 6th made it an 8-6 game, after scoring 3 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th, and 1 in the 6th.
RNE added 3 insurance runs that went unanswered in the 7th.
Five errors hurt the Saints as RNE only tallied 6 earned runs.
