VARSITY BASEBALL

Orangeburg Prep 11, Mars High (Pa.) 10 (F/9)

Hobie Dennis picked up the win for the Indians giving him two this year.

Offensively, OPS was led by Morris Mirmow who went 3-5 and Chris Brown had a 2-3 day at the plate. Calder West added a 2-5 effort including a solo home run. Dennis also added two hits.

Orangeburg Prep (3-6) will host Northwood Academy at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 17, Calhoun County 6

ST. MATTHEWS – Kodi Jamison earned the win for the Red Raiders. lief for the save.

At the plate, Sumner Cooler was 4-5 with a RBI while Jamison went 3-4 with two RBIs.

Landon Sandifer and Anthony Chandler each went 2-4 with three RBIs and Chris Sweatman was 2-5 with two RBIs.

For the Saints, Dustin Pratt and Tyrone Archie led Calhoun County at the plate with 2 hits each.

Lower Richland 13, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 0 (Game 1)

Lower Richland 4, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 3 (Game 2)

HOPKINS - Dominique Howard suffered the loss for the Bruins in Game 1. He had seven strikeouts.

Offensively, Austin Bradley was 2-2 against the Diamond Hornets.

In Game 2, Steve Warner took the loss for O-W. Howard led the offense going 2-2 with a double and two RBIs.

O-W (1-7, 1-4) return to action on April 9 at Orangeburg Prep for a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Holly Hill Academy 4, Thomas Sumter 2

DALZELL – The winning pitcher was Noah Cason (5-1). Cason had 14 strikeouts on the night.

Cason also went 3-4 at the plate with a RBI. James Shuler was 2-3 with three RBIs.

HHA (7-4, 4-0) will return to action on April 9 when they travel to Mt. Pleasant to face Palmetto Christian.

Orangeburg Christian 14, Abundant Life 1

HARDEEVILLE - The winning pitcher was Brandon Arant with 11 strikeouts while surrendering three hits.

The Patriots (9-1, 5-0) were led by Josh Logan with a 3-4 day including a double.

OCA takes on St. John’s Christian on April 8 at home.

JV BASEBALL

Mars High (Pa.) 10, Orangeburg Prep 6

OP was led by Hunter Harley with a 2-3 day at the plate. Garrick Ardis was 1-2 in the loss.

The Indians (3-3) will host Hammond on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

VARSITY SOCCER

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 3, Edisto 3

CORDOVA – B-E won this contest in a penalty kick shootout by the score of 3-2.

Wil Gilland had a goal and an assist for B-E. Sam Lucas and Matt Maxwell also contributed a goal apiece. Mike Lee provided an assist in regulation. In the shootout, Gilland, Maxwell and Justin Dyches each scored a goal.

B-E (5-4) will return to action at Calhoun County on April 11.

JV SOCCER

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 3, Edisto 1

CORDOVA – Dorian Risher, Drake Whetsell and Malcolm McCaskill each scored goals in the win for the Red Raiders.

They will return to action on April 12 when they face Branchville.

LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hillcrest Men’s Golf Association to be held Saturday

The Hillcrest Men’s Golf Associaton will hold their monthly golf tournament on Saturday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

The tournament format will be a 5-club contest in individual play. To register by 5 p.m. today or for more information, call 803-533-6030.
