Orangeburg Prep participated in the SCISA State Individuals Wrestling Tournament on February 10th. Placing for the Indians was, pictured front from left: Will Connor, 3rd; Preston Ray, 2nd; Tanner Aimar, 2nd; Wesley Wells, 1st. Wells won the first wrestling state title for the OPS program. Mullins 72

ST. MATTHEWS - Calhoun County edged out a home playoff win to start Class 2A Lower State play on Wednesday, taking a 75-72 home win against Mullins.

Zamuel Fredrick scored 22 points for the Saints, while Nyriek Milligan added 21 points and Ethan Tullock added 10 points.

The Saints made 8 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter, outscoring Mullins by a 19-16 count, for the final margin.

J.B. Brantley led the Auctioneers with 19 points, while C.J. Gilchrist added 14 points and L. Davis added 13 points.

Calhoun County will play host to Wednesday's winner between Burke and Andrews in a second-round contest on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 37

HEMINGWAY - The Red Raiders saw their postseason end in the first round of SCHSL Class 2A playoffs with a road loss against the Bears on Wednesday.

Quincy Irons had a team-high 14 points for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, while Blaze Bunch and Deamare Vanzego each added 7 points.
