CHARLESTON - Despite trailing 13-2 at the half, the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruinettes rebounded for a 30-21 win against host Cane Bay in the championship game of the Carolina Invitational at Cane Bay High School in Charleston on Saturday.

Sophomore D'Mya Tucker and senior Alajah Scott each made the all-tournament team, while junior Brandi Rivers was named the tournament MVP.

In the title game, Tucker and Biance Frances each scored 10 points and snagged 3 steals, while Rivers added 7 points. Tucker and Rivers each added 9 rebounds, while Rivers added 3 assists. Scott added 2 points and 6 steals.

O-W (10-1 record) returns to action on Tuesday at home against Calhoun County at 6 p.m.

BLACKVILLE - The Red Raiders followed up a Friday win against Denmark-Olar with a Saturday win in the third-place game of the Hawk Invitational Basketball Tournament against the host Fighting Hawks.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt (5-6 record) got 10 points from all-tournament team selection Quincy Irons, while J. Baxter added 13 points and B. Murdough added 12 points.

B-E plays next on Thursday at home against Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m.
