Calhoun Academy defeated Robert E. Lee 38-14 on Thursday, the win improved Calhoun Academy’s record to 3-0 on the year.

Matt Layton opened the game with an 80-yard kickoff return, followed by a Layton pass to Andrew Tucker for the two-point conversion. Layton added touchdown runs from 10, 50, and 45-yards.

Andrew Tucker scored on a 35-yard touchdown run. Lane Noe led the Cavaliers with five tackles and a sack and Adam Lowder blocked a punt and also had a sack.

Matt Layton also had a 50-yard interception returned for a touchdown.

CA will travel to Dorchester on Wednesday to play at 6 p.m.

Orangeburg Prep 35

Wilson Hall 8

Orangeburg prep defeated Wilson Hall 35-8 on Thursday.

On offense, the Indians were led by, Dylan Wilson who rushed for over 200-yards and scored 3 touchdowns on the ground from one, two, and 10-yards, he also ran in a two-point conversion. McCullough Mims had a 20-yard touchdown pass to Nick Shafer. Mims also completed a two-point conversion with a pass to A.J. Tolbert.

Defensively, Amir Tyler added a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown. Tackle leaders from the defensive line were Kenneth Fogle, Noland Boney, and Elliot Fogle. Tolbert also added a fumble recovery.

OPS will travel to Porter-Gaud on Thursday to play at 7 p.m.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Heathwood Hall 3

Orangeburg Prep 1

Heathwood Hall took a 3-1 win over Orangeburg Prep on Thursday, with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-23.

OPS was led by Amber White with six kills, five aces and 18 digs, Marlee Robinson with five kills and 12 digs, Alyson Hay four aces, two kills and 16 digs and Lindsay Salley with 26 assists.

Orangeburg Prep defeated Heathwood Hall 2-0 on Thursday, with set scores of 25-16 and 25-10.

The Lady Indians were led by Lydia Riley with four kills, Charlotte Laird with three kills, Ashlyn Smith with seven aces, Anna Beth Lambrecht with five aces and Sidney Adicks with five aces

A.C. Flora took a 2-0 win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Thursday, with set scores of 25-13 and 25-14.

O-W (5-3) will travel to Dreher on Tuesday for its next game.

B-TEAM FOOTBALL

Wilson Hall 28

Orangeburg Prep 16

Wilson Hall defeated Orangeburg Prep 28-16 on Thursday.

Forrest Sutcliffe scored on a five-yard run and added the two-point conversion for the Indians. Jay Jamison had a 65 yard kickoff return with Jody Gilliam running in the two-point conversion to complete the scoring for OP.

The Indians are 1-3 and will travel to Porter-Gaud on Thursday to play their final game of the regular season.

B-TEAM VOLLEYBALL

Carver-Edisto 3

Branchville 0

COPE – Carver-Edisto took a 3-0 win at home against Branchville on Thursday, winning by set scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-13.

Leading the way for the Lady Cougars was Ashley Shafer with 10 points, six aces and two kills, Janae Darby with six points and two aces, Skylar Davis with five points and three aces. Hannah Sweatman and Abby Fenton both contributed three points apiece, while Zyasia Stewart added two points and one ace.

Edisto (5-1) will play on Monday at Howard Middle School.

Felton Laboratory Charter School 3

Howard Middle 0

Felton Laboratory defeated Howard Middle 3-0 on Thursday, with set scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-12 .

Felton was led by Trinity Winningham with five aces and two kills, Ayana Daniels with four aces, McKenzie Morgan with four aces, Stephany Brailey with two aces and one kill, Darian Dawson with one ace and Journii Hilliard with one ace and one kill.

Felton Lab (8-0) will play next on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at home in Dukes gym.
