Claflin men finish road swing Monday

 The Claflin University men’s basketball team will try closeout a seven-game road trip unbeaten, Monday when they face Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) member Winston-Salem State University.

 The contest begins at 7:30 p.m. in the C.E. Gaines Center.

 Claflin will bring an impressive 8-1 record into the non-conference match that includes a seven-game win streak. The last time the Panthers loss was the second game of season (Nov. 11), a 61-52 decision to the University of Montevallo. Claflin rebounded from the defeat with a 76-62 homecoming win (Nov. 18) over Young Harris College before embarking on the current seven-game road trip.

Claflin women to host Livingstone

 After playing their last six contests on the road, the Claflin University Lady Panthers return to Tullis Arena Monday to host Livingstone College. The Lady Panthers will be looking to avenge the season-opening loss to Livingstone when the teams take to the hardwood.

 Tip-off for the non-conference game is 5:30 p.m.

 The Lady Panthers, who went 3-3 on their road swing, brings a 4-4 overall record and two-game win streak into Monday’s contest.
