Will Till of Orangeburg was recently named to the National Skeet Shooting Associations 2012 Kreighoff All-American Team.

Till, 14, a student at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, shoots on the Mid Carolina 4H Shooting team and becomes only the second Sub Junior from South Carolina to make the All-American Team.

The NSSA All-American Teams are based on a point system in the following categories: Open, Lady, Sub-Junior, Junior, Collegiate, Triple Sub, Sub-Sub-Senior, Sub Senior, Senior, Veteran, Senior Veteran, Super Veteran, Military, Retired Military, Rookie and International. Shooters must shoot the minimum number of registered skeet targets in 12, 20, and 28 gauge as well as .410 and doubles.

Till finished 15th nationally last year and won the South Carolina State Championship in the Sub Junior concurrent division. He also won several medals at the Junior World Skeet Championship in Nashville and the Zone 4 Championship in Savannah. Till was the Sub Junior High Overall and High All Around at the Zone 4 tournament, which included shooters from South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina,Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Puerto Rico and Jamaica.

Also qualifying for the 2012 team are South Carolina Junior shooters Catherine Blankenship of Anderson and Adam Willey of Clemson.

The Mid Carolina 4H Shooting Sports Club of Orangeburg is sponsored by Mid Carolina Gun Club and promotes learning life lessons through shotgun shooting sports including skeet, trap and sporting clays for youth ages 10-18. The Youth Shooting team members participate in matches organized by the South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation, 4H, Scholastic Clay Target Program events and local, state, regional and national registered target events. Those interested in participating in the Mid Carolina 4H program can contact the Clemson Extension office in Orangeburg or Bamberg counties.
