CORDOVA - The Bruins took a second straight win in the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament they host, getting a 6-point victory against the Warriors of Metrolina Christian Academy at Edisto High School on Wednesday.

Tate Johnson had 19 points for the Warriors, while Tyler Anderson added 15 points and Stephen Clark added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Other teams unbeaten in the tournament through two days of play include Manning, Kingstree and Colleton County (see scores below).

O-W will play again on Thursday at home against Manning at 8 p.m.

Metrolina Christian will play again on Thursday at O-W against Calhoun County at 5 p.m.

CORDOVA - Wade Hampton (of Hampton) rebounded from an opening-round loss to Orangeburg-Wilkinson in the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament by taking a win against Edisto at Edisto High School on Wednesday.

Wade Hampton will play at Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Thursday at 2 p.m. against Cross Creek (Ga.).

Edisto will play at Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Thursday at 11 a.m. against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler.

Calhoun County 61

ST. MATTHEWS - Manning's Darius Williams scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Monarchs to a win against the Saints on Wednesday in the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament at Calhoun County High.

Cam'Ron Cain added 15 points and Jordan Lowery had 10 points for the Monarchs (9-1 record).

Eric Mack led Calhoun County with 20 points, as the Saints struggled early, scoring just four points in the first quarter.

ST. MATTHEWS - Cross Creek edged out the Trojans by 2 points on Wednesday in second-round play in the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament at Calhoun County High School.

Cross Creek will play on Thursday at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School at 2 p.m. against Wade Hampton (of Hampton).

H-K-T will play on Thursday at Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 11 a.m. against Edisto.

Allendale-Fairfax 66 OT

SANTEE - Jaewon Jefferson recorded a double-double performance of 11 points and 12 rebounds, to go along with 5 assists, on Wednesday as the Gators took an overtime win against Allendale-Fairfax in the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament at Lake Marion High School.

Gershon Robinson added 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists for Lake Marion, while Gervaris Wearing added 15 points, Traveon Davis added 11 points, and Calijah Williams added 5 rebounds.

Lake Marion (5-5 record) will play again on Thursday at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School at 12:30 p.m. against Hanahan.

Allendale-Fairfax will play on Thursday at Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 9:30 a.m. against Swansea.

Bethune-Bowman 58

BOWMAN - Bethune-Bowman led late, but dropped a 61-58 home game to Colleton County on Wednesday night in second-round action of the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament.

Winning 56-52 with 1:46 left to play, Bethune-Bowman lost Rodrick Pam (14 points) to an ankle injury and later lost the lead. Braxton Wedgeworth led the Mohawks with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Darius Middleton added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for the Mohawks. Trey Haigler added 5 points and a game-high 10 assists.

Nyeem Green led the Cougars with 23 points in the win, while Tristain Nieves added 18 points and Javon Williams added 10 points.

Colleton County (9-3 record) will play again on Thursday at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School at 6:30 p.m. against Kingstree.

Bethune-Bowman will play again on Thursday at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School at 3:30 p.m. against Fort Dorchester.

SANTEE - Kingstree's Quinton Alston scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Jaguars to a win in the Orangeburg County Sweet Sixteen Tournament at Lake Marion High on Wednesday.

Koby Fulton also had 14 and Direlle McGee added 10 points for Kingstree (10-1 record).

Troy Bryant led Fort Dorchester with 20 points.
