OPS comes away with top 4 finishers at SCISA individuals

COLUMBIA – The Orangeburg Prep Indians’ first wrestling state championship will have to wait at least one more year as four OPS grapplers finished with top four finishes in the SCISA wrestling individuals state championships at Cardinal Newman.

In the 170-pound class, senior Reed Grubbs came away with his second straight second place finish in the final individual tournament of his career with the Indians. Also finishing second was 220-pound sophomore Ben Ridgeway. Sophomore Chance Bolton came in third in the heavyweight division, while freshman Clayton Kittrell finished fourth in the 114-pound weight class.

ROWESVILLE — The Mohawks fall to 2-17 overall and 2-4 in region play in the Friday game. They will take on Estill at home on Monday.
