Eagles top Ridge Spring-Monetta

NORTH — The Eagles boys’ track team defeated Ridge Spring-Monetta 59-9. The girls’ team also won 30-13. Deon Mathis placed first in the high jump and the triple jump. Ayanna Coleman was the top girls finisher in the triple jump and placed second in the 400-meter race.

North will return to action on March 13 when they travel to Edisto.



Bamberg-Ehrhardt 1, Wade Hampton 1

BAMBERG — The Red Raiders defeated Wade Hampton via shootout 3-2 to open the season with a win.

Justin Dyches scored the lone goal for B-E while Justin Verner came away with the assist in regulation. Wil Gilland, Matt Maxwell and Paul Glenn each provided goals for B-E in the shootout.

The Red Raiders (1-0) will host Branchville today at 6 p.m.



3 T&D Region players in SCISA-GISA game

Orangeburg Prep’s Kyle Stokes and Dorchester Academy’s Daniel Fralix will play in the boys’ SCISA-GISA All-Star games on Saturday. Dorchester Academy’s Tayler Barcomb will be the lone T&D representative in the girls’ Class A-AA game. This exhibition contests put the top players from SCISA against the top players from the Georgia Independent School Association. The games will take play in Columbia at Heathwood Hall on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.


All-Area basketball nominations

Coaches may now submit nominations for The T&D All-Area basketball teams. Nominations must include the player’s classification, position, statistics and accolades from the 2012 season. Players must be nominated by their coaches in order to receive consideration. The nominations may be sent to or They may also be faxed to 803-533-5595.



Bamberg-Ehrhardt 163, Williston-Elko 180

BAMBERG — Cameron Bunch shot a 37 to medal for the Red Raiders in a non-region meeting Wednesday at the Paw Paw Country Club.

John Melton had a 36 to lead the Blue Devils.

B-E will play host to a tri-match against Region 5-AA rivals Wade Hampton and Barnwell Monday.

BAMBERG — Tyler Saitz, Hayden Bess, Anna Lucas and Mitch Robinson led the team defensively in the season opening loss for the JV Raiders.

B-E (0-1) will host Branchville at 4:30 today.



Orangeburg Prep 10, Colleton Prep 7 (Game 1)

Colleton Prep 13, OPS 5 (Game 2)

Logan Teague, Nicole Ayer and Savannah Poole led the offense in hitting in Game 1. Teague was the winning pitcher.

In the second game, the Lady Indians were held without a hit.

Orangeburg Prep will travel to St. George on March 13 to face Dorchester Academy on March 13.
