Holly Hill Academy 43, Dorchester Academy 40

Noah Cason scored 13 points for Holly Hill. Their record is now 12-11. Dorchester Academy iwas led by Daniel Fralix who scored 21 points.

Laurence Manning 58, Orangeburg Prep 57

SUMTER – The Indians fall in the semifinals of the Region 2-AAA tournament Monday at the Exhibition Center.

Kyle Stokes had 22 to pace OPS (17-11), who now awaits its opening round opponent in the SCISA Class 3-A playoffs on Saturday.

VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cross 42, Bethune-Bowman 30

CROSS - Wykeria Jones scored 12 points in a losing effort in the opening round of the S.C. High School League Class A playoffs as the Lady Mohawks’ finish their season Monday with a 6-13 record. Corey Caulder led Palmetto Christian Academy scoring 10 points.

Orangeburg Prep 43, Florence Christian 37

SUMTER - Elizabeth Rheney scored 14 points, Allie Stephens added 13 and Julia Bonnette had 10 to lead the Lady Indians Monday in the opening round of the SCISA Region 2-AAA tournament at the Exhibition Center.

OPS (21-7) will face Laurence Manning Academy in the region tournament title game set for 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Holly Hill Academy 38, Palmetto Christian Academy 39

Holly Hill was led by Jessica Cline who scored 12 points followed by Kayla Crider who scored 9. Holly Hill’s record is now 12-11 and they move into the state playoffs on Friday.

Denmark Technical College 71, Clinton Junior College 51

DENMARK - Denmark Technical College improved to 15-2 overall, 5-0 in the conference Monday.

Tiyana Burwell scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, India Lawson had 16 points and Tonya Jackson added nine points and 11 rebounds.

Denmark Technical College travels to Spartanburg Junior College Friday at 5 p.m.

S.C. STATE SOFTFALL

Today’s game postponed

The softball game between South Carolina State and Anderson scheduled for today has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The teams will face each other in a non-conference double-header on Feb. 26 beginning at 1 p.m.

SC State finished its opening weekend 5-1. The Lady Bulldogs went 4-1 in the Claflin University Tournament held Friday and Saturday and then defeated Howard in a single game on Sunday.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to action this Friday when they play host to Benedict in a non-conference double-header. First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m.
