In a recent text message, The Times and Democrat learned that Orangeburg-Wilkinson defensive end Albert Huggins confirmed that he will attend Black Magic at the University of South Carolina.

Huggins recently decided against going to the University of Florida's Friday Night Lights, the Gators' annual recruit showcase. However, the Bruins' young prodigy is looking forward to the opportunity to taking part in the Gamecocks' showcase.

"I'm very excited," Huggins said. "It's anorher chance to show them what I have to offer them."

Huggins, who still has not listed the top schools he'd like to play for, will also have a little more time to show Carolina and other teams what he has to offer as the Bruins prepare to open play on August 23 against Bamberg-Ehrhardt in what has become a game with growing interest over the last three years.
